TIDE
(2022)

Inspired by their outdoor performance of ‘Take A Dip’, ConfiCo use dance and projection to explore how the sea affects our movement quality and how, like water, life can change at any moment.

Take A Dip
(Autumn 2021)

A vibrant pop-up performance celebrating public art.

Inspired by Rana Begum's Triennial artwork No.1054 Arpeggio and Folkestone's colourful seafront, ConfiCo connected people with their local arts community through a site-specific performance presented as part of Folkestone Fringe SUBPLOT.

(Autumn 2020)

What is art?  Who is, or isn’t, an artist?  Who does art belong to?

When presented with a plinth on which to perform their “art”, ConfiCo find themselves on a journey of discovery driven by these core questions. Through a series of solo performances, four dancers become careful curators of art themselves - inspired by Folkestone’s very own Banksy - “Art Buff” -  and enduring debates about how, and who, views and engages with art.

This work is supported by Arts Council England National Lottery and Quarterhouse, and is part of a professional residency delivered by Confidance.

“ Bloody marvellous! Gorgeous dancers performing with warmth, wit and wonderfulness! Thank you so much - you cheered the world.”

In Limbo
(2020)

In Limbo was created in response to the national lockdown of Summer 2020. Whilst the nation was told to isolate, ConfiCo reconnected online. The work celebrates the tenacity, integrity and creativity of our dancers, who co-created the work in a very different (dance) world. A piece that embodies joy, play and connectedness whilst the world found itself...in limbo.

"Door 13 was absolutely incredible. It was so brilliant and important that the performance included professional dancers with disabilities. It sends such a strong message of equality and valuing all people. This kind of thing really changes people's opinions and expectations for the better.”
