Join our Board!
Are you interested in being part of transformational change for learning disabled and neurodivergent people in Kent?
We are looking to recruit new members to our board, including a Chair of the Board position!
Please start by reading our recruitment pack for all the details and how to apply.
(Recruitment Pack includes an Audio Description file).
This is a great opportunity to work with a small scale not-for-profit with big
ambitions and a new three year growth plan. Your contribution will influence the way
dance, movement and physical activity is developed with and for learning disabled
people across Kent.
We’re particularly interested in recruiting individuals with an understanding, skills or
experience in one or more of the following areas:
● Fundraising and financial management
● Safeguarding
● Transitioning from a company to a charity
● Developing inclusion at strategic, decision making levels
Chair of the Board:
The Chair plays a key leadership role, working closely with the Artistic Director and
other Trustees to ensure the Board functions effectively and supports Confidance’s
development. You don’t need to have chaired a board before — we are open to first-
time Chairs with leadership experience in other settings.
Candidates will need to:
● Share our values of inclusion, co-creation and access
● Have experience in leadership or governance (not specifically as a Chair)
● Have time to invest in supporting Confidance with our 3-year growth plan
● Be ready to support the transition from company to registered charity
To achieve our goals, the Board is actively seeking a diverse membership and
welcomes applications from people regardless of age, gender, gender identity, race,
ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, social class or religion.
If our work is of interest to you and you're passionate about disability-arts, but you are unsure whether you have the correct experience yet, then we’d be delighted to hear from you.
We are committed to providing support for applicants with access needs, so get in touch with us for an informal chat if you want to know more about the role.
Please see our recruitment pack for more information and how to apply.
Deadline for applications: Sunday 2nd November 2025
